For me, I dont like XFX Graphiccards, also you can buy better and more (if you want to render videos) RAM.

All of it is pretty good, but I suggest you upgrade your memory, 8 gb will be okay, but with your systems abilities its nice to let it reach its full potential, and as for storage if your only going to have a 500gb Perhaps look into a SSD (Solid State Drive) it will help with space, and speed, as long as you configure your cores properly you will be fine
ps. does your cpu have multi thread processing ? i can't remember for sure if it does or not

Processor is great!
Motherboard too, can't go wrong with that model.

RAM could be something cheaper without heat spreaders(RAM doesn't overheat, or if it has a potential it's bad RAM = RAM with heat spreaders could be bad)
8GB is plenty and will reach full potential... Since the next thing is to get two 8GB cards which is a whole 16GB which is dumb. (Games can't even use the whole 8GB usually, more like 2GB or 4 max)

Storage is a bit low, maybe get a 1TB or 1.5TB HDD? Keep to 7200rpm like you have here and if you don't need more than 500GB then it's fine.

In place of that HD7950 consider a Radeon HD 7870 too. It's similar in power but a little cheaper.

Case is really a personal preference unless you want to focus on noise levels and such

Power Supply, I would recommend the best brand, Seasonic. You wouldn't want the PSU to fry your whole PC. Also only 500W is required for those cards, I'd take a Seasonic 550W G-550, 80 Plus Gold
Gold rating is better in efficency than the Bronze

Optical drive just get the cheapest that works for you

The computer technology changing fast...

About 9 month ago i paid for about $1000 but you got a decent spec for less than $1000 and better than the that i got previously now.

1333 mhz rams are not good enough
Your motherboard supports up to 2800 with overclocking.
You should get rams at least at 2133 mhz with low CAS timings.
